I was just so happy because in the end it wasn’t about a guy or her romantic happily ever after. It was about her finding her happily ever after by achieving her ultimate career goal that she had wanted since she was a kid. That is spectacular. More movies like this please.

I’m watching this now. It’s terrifying. I hope I can feel the same way about Gerard Butler after this.
Twilight is garbage. Period. There is no argument saying that it’s not. You can be a fan, whatever. But being a fan means taking the good with the bad and being able to admit when something sucks. I’m a huge JLo fan and I openly admit that Gigli was trash. I’m a huge Sandra Bullock fan but I can agree that Speed 2 was rotten. I generally like Nora Ephron movies but I can tell you that Bewitched wasn’t her best work. Get the picture? You can like Twilight all you want but stop being self righteous and acting like these movies are the greatest things you have ever seen. Cinematic masterpieces. NO. The SCREENWRITER for the movies openly admits that they’re awful. She just states that they don’t have to be good. People will see them anyway. This is true. Sad but true. Working at the movies, I see great films, critically acclaimed films, FLOP in the box office all the time. It makes me lose faith in humanity knowing that Eclipse will sell out for the next month and probably stay in theaters until like December. We sold out 7 midnight showings tonight and sold a considerable amount of tickets for the 2:40 AM showing that we had to open because people couldn’t wait until 10:15 tomorrow to see this goddamn movie.
I also love how defensive people get about it. There was a review on E! Online saying that Eclipse was bad. People commenting were SO upset about that review. They say E! is a bunch of Twilight haters and that they just don’t understand the movies (HA! because they’re so deep and meaningful) and that E! doesn’t know what they’re talking about because they gave Eclipse the same score as Knight and Day (which apparently in the “Twi-hards” opinions was awful). Sorry but at least Knight and Day had stars that can act instead of Rob “I don’t bathe but I fooled 13 year olds into think I’m foxy” Pattinson and Kristen “I show every emotion by letting my jaw hang open” Stewart. E! knows their shit. They don’t care about your hormones. They’re reviewing the movie based on the movie alone, just as they would with any other film.
Also, Twilight and Harry Potter get put on the same level a lot. I’m not a huge Harry Potter fan either. I read the books once. I saw the movies once. That was about all I felt the need for. However, I have to give the Harry Potter franchise some credit. At least they make an effort with the movies and don’t just rely on people going to see them anyway. Also, J.K. Rowling knew when to stop. She ended the series, reserved the rights to the characters so no one else could continue it, and ended it. She knew it was successful but she knew when to call it quits. Then you have Stephanie Meyer (I don’t care enough to check if I spelled her name right) who decides to go back and rewrite the first book from Edward’s point of view. Great. The same story with different but equally painful narration. Awesome.
I’m not saying you can’t like it. I’m just saying shut up. I’m tired of hearing you whine. Rob Pattinson isn’t going to get an oscar. I don’t care about Taylor Lautner’s abs. Jacob and Edward aren’t real and never will be. You are not Bella. No one’s skin sparkles in the sun. And if I hear one more person say, “Hang on, spidermonkey,” there’s no telling what I’ll do. See your movie but let me live my life in freaking peace. Thanks.
My little sister sent me this. I love it. My family says “It’s so fluffy” now on the regular. Can’t wait for this movie.
